Fading an Image into the Background instantly

There is a command in Fireworks MX that allows you to instantly fade one image into another or into the background.

1. Open a new image or file and place the image on top of the image or background you want to fade into. This sample is a new page with a blue background. The image is from the Rubberball (www.rubberball.com) Health and Fitness CD.

2. Use the Pointer tool to select the image.

3. From the main menu choose Commands|Creative|Fade Image

4. Select the type of fade you want and click OK.

5. Click and drag the black square to adjust the fade. You can move it in, out up and down.

Note: If you want to edit the fade after you've deselected the image then click on the little pen icon in the Layers panel.
