Web Design in A Nutshell
This book is a great reference for the beginner or for the experienced
user that may need a quick refresher course. The book is well indexed
making finding a particular topic easy. Some of the topics include
HTML authoring, graphics production and media development. There
are discussion on the "standards" and using Cascading
Style Sheets has more emphasis in this version of Web Design.
You are taught how to design for various browsers and monitor displays.
There is even a chapter devoted for those coming from print design
into Web design. Accessibility and even internationalization is
covered. Of course the all the important things you need to know
about getting your images online is covered. The book then moves
into multimedia and interactivity and covers topics such as video
on the Web, Flash and an introduction to SMIL. It all wraps up an
advanced section including topics such as an introduction to JavaScript,
DHTML, XML and XHTML, WAP and WML.
This is a great book for the price, easy to use and packed with
valuable information.
